FEELS LIKE SUMMER.

**☀️ Beat the Summer Heat with Nawiri Care 🌡️**

Summer is here, and with it comes scorching temperatures that can pose significant health risks—especially to our elderly community and individuals living with disabilities. At Nawiri Care, we are committed to ensuring everyone under our care stays safe, cool, and hydrated during this season. 🌴

**Why Hydration is Crucial:**

Water is essential for the body to function properly, especially during high temperatures. Staying hydrated helps:

- Regulate body temperature.

- Maintain skin health, preventing dryness and irritation caused by heat.

- Reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses like heat stroke and dehydration.

Encourage clients, families, and staff to carry water bottles and take regular sips throughout the day.

**Sun Safety Practices:**

1. **Apply Sunscreen:** Always use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Reapply every 2 hours if outdoors.

2. **Avoid Peak Heat:** Stay indoors between 11 AM and 4 PM, when the sun is at its strongest.

3. **Protective Clothing:** Light, loose-fitting clothing and wide-brimmed hats are perfect for staying cool while reducing sun exposure.

**Keeping Cool Indoors:**

- Use fans or air conditioning where possible.

- Keep curtains or blinds closed during peak heat hours to block out the sun.

- Take cool showers or use damp cloths to lower body temperature.

**Our Commitment at Nawiri Care:**

Our dedicated team has been trained to manage heat-related risks. This includes:

- Monitoring the hydration levels of our clients.

- Ensuring cool, safe environments are maintained in all our facilities.

- Educating families and staff on early signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

- Being prepared with heat wave management plans to keep everyone comfortable and safe.

Let’s work together as a community to make this summer enjoyable, safe, and stress-free for all. Thank you to our amazing staff and stakeholders for your dedication during this season!

**Stay cool, stay hydrated, and remember—prevention is better than cure.**
